SCREENCAPS I prefer to make my own icons from screencaps rather than using premade icons, but the sources of the screencaps vary. The majority of them come from fansite photo galleries for the face claim in question, but if they're not up to date, I will sometimes look to sites that specialize in screencaps for various works, like Home of the Nutty. Failing that, I cap shows and movies myself.

CONTENT WARNING DEATH, DEMONS, SUICIDE.— Izabel lives the first few years of her life in Brazil. She loses her father, Andrea, in a work-related accident. Feliciana, her mother, grieves by overworking and passes from exhaustion.— Izabel is taken in by Anna, Andrea’s sister, and her husband Maurice. It’s an easy decision: beyond being her godparents and her family, they desired children and had trouble conceiving. Over time, her aunt manages to give birth thrice, adding four more children to the family.— Renamed, “Charity” has difficulty adjusting to life in the United States. Her devout parents encourage her to find meaning in the church community. She prefers to draw and daydream about a world much bigger than that.— For a time, life is simple. Cherry enjoys playing ringleader to her siblings, getting them all into trouble. With her charming conviviality, her parents end up pardoning more than they should.— At age sixteen, she stops painting and grows moody, sullen. TAG DEFAULT. THE PRESENT. LATE 20s-EARLY 30s.Cherry’s life may be nomadic, but it certainly isn't lonesome. As a de facto “rent-a-person,” she allows herself to be booked via her personal website for most any job you need of her. As a result, she's built up a strong network of eclectic clients and usually knows someone willing to compensate her for her time and effort, no matter what form her work takes. Despite this, she considers artist to be her ultimate vocation and dreams of one day having entire shows and galleries dedicated to her paintings.At age 16, she became the victim of demonic possession and nearly lost her life. Since that episode, the idea of slowing down to settle in one place, complacent, terrifies her. She wants to experience absolutely everything life has to offer and refuses to die until there’s nothing left. Conveniently, the demon dwelling within her tends to protect their shared body during her less than genius escapades.

TAG PAST. SCHOOL-AGE. UP TO MID-20s.Cherry coasts through life daydreaming about a world of possibilities and potential, sometimes blinded to opportunities right in front of her. Though not school royalty, her light-hearted nature draws people toward her. Connection comes at a cost, however, and at the end of the day Cherry finds herself exhausted by classroom drama. Her ennui continues in college, when she can't decide on a proper “profession” to shape her future around. The idea of picking a career and spending the entirety of her existence devoted to it is completely unappealing. She can't wait to finally begin living, but has no idea where to start.

TAG FUTURE. POST-CANON. VARIES/+30s.A known name in the art world, Cherry's title and talent are finally in sync. These days, however, her paintings are beginning to take the back burner to her growing reputation as an occultist. It started with dabbling in exorcisms; she wanted no one's fate to match her own. She had no affinity for spectral visitors, seeking only to eradicate them. Conveniently, she seemed to have a natural knack for ghostbusting. Word of mouth ensured she fell deeper and deeper into the paranormal, whether she wanted to or not.sub-verse: PARENTHOOD. Parenting is tough, and half-demon children make it tougher. It began when Cherry, among others, was dragged to Hell by a demon who fed off the passion associated with human ingenuity and creativity. Most did not survive the trip. Cherry's safety was ensured solely by the demonic residue of her past possession. Escaping the farm proved simpler than expected, but returning to Earth was not. Until she could, she took up a companion (and lover) for protection.The arachnid Nanoc was a peculiar mix of eagerness and timidness that Cherry deemed harmless—and easy to ditch. She adores her son, Apollo, but hopes expression of his demonic heritage is kept minimal. Already, he has two bumps on his forehead that she fears will become horns. A lock of white hair is a memento from her battle in Hell, the toll of pushing her body through realms twice.

Sharing her body with Nikita has granted Cherry extreme strength and durability beyond human limits, though she is not immortal or invulnerable. She heals rapidly, although the pain is still excruciating.Nikita is protective of their shared body and when she feels that Cherry is putting their body in jeopardy, she may elect to take over. Cherry doesn't know what happens when Nikita is in control, but has woken up with broken bones or dislocated limbs or in places she has no recollection of visiting—but still very much alive. Whenever she asks Nikita what happened while she was out, Nikita tells her that it doesn't concern her. Nikita isn't very fond of the human race, but she cannot survive on Earth without a host. So, she and Cherry have a delicate balancing act to try to maintain some semblance of autonomy on both their sides.Cherry is affiliated with a motley crew of morally grey individuals calling themselves The Leftovers. They're not quite heroes and not quite villains, and seem to act in their own best interests. While Cherry attempts to fight crime every now and then when it suits her, her true strength seems to lie in the more mystical side of the multiverse. She is an accomplished exorcist—ironic, considering who she shares a body with.Ever since her first possession by Nikita, Cherry's hair has grown out pink. She periodically "leaks" a green, gassy substance from a scar on her neck that she refers to as The Fog. The clearest way to tell if Nikita is operating their body is to look at their eyes: Cherry's are brown, but become clouded by The Fog when Nikita is at the helm.She's also an incredibly gifted archer, but that's neither here nor there.

The family of seven arrived during the summer of 1982, seeking a new start in the aftermath of a major crisis and scandal involving their eldest daughter, Charity. If asked, Mr. and Mrs. Ciapetti will claim that they craved a change of pace from the bustling city of San Francisco. Depending on who asks, Charity (or Cherry, to her friends) will give the truth: strange things were afoot in their home. After a near-death experience with what she claims was a demon, her parents freaked out and moved across the country, away from any potential bad influences. Of course, that explanation leaves a lot to be desired. Demonic home invasions? That girl’s not right in the head.— Currently a senior at Hawkins High, all 19-year-old Cherry wants is to avoid making any more trouble for her family while remaining as true to herself as she can. Easy enough, right? Unfortunately, even when she’s on her best behavior, trouble has a way of finding her. Graduating will be the least of her worries.

It's one of the most disastrous timelines yet, considering that Cherry and her siblings managed to get Reginald killed due to their shortcomings.Despite being a conduit for the dead, Cherry hasn't attempted to allow their late father to possess her. She hasn't come across his spirit at all. Currently, she plays host to a hellish, non-human entity that pushes her strength beyond human limits and affords her an expedited yet excruciating healing process. She's pretty sure there's room for another ghost or two in her, if they don't mind sharing.

— To some, Amelia would be a sin. A crime against nature. A science project. To Hansel, she is family. His mother knew Amelia her whole life, and before either of them were born, his grandfather birthed her.— A bright farm boy, Johannes obsessed over the story of Frankenstein and sought the secret to reanimation. A series of abominations led to Amelia: imperfect, prone to organ failure and other anomalies, but alive. She required eternal care, and Johannes was not immortal. So, he impregnated his assistant, and married her as a courtesy. Their life was pragmatic, but not loveless.— Henrike, as a "project," was a failure. She was wary of Amelia and assisted only when absolutely necessary. Still, she lamented when her parents took their knowledge to the grave.— Hansel was thirteen when he lost his grandparents. Henrike's attention was occupied by the nursery & florist shop she operated with her husband, Georges. Having assisted with Amelia's surgeries in the past, Hansel pledged himself to her in his mother's stead. This, in addition to helping out his relatives' farm, distracted him from other feelings he couldn't tell his parents.— His last year of school, he became close with Mitzi, a woman several years his senior, who expressed an interest in him he couldn't reciprocate. He loved her, but wasn't in love with her. They were married the week of his graduation.— It fell apart with the birth of Cyrille. Hansel was not prepared for parenthood, nor marriage. He admitted to Mitzi that he was interested in men. She had her suspicions, but didn't expect him to tell her. For her part, she never imagined being tied down this soon: it interfered with her aim of travel photography.

— They divorced when Hansel was 19. He became the sole guardian of Cyrille.— Georges and Henrike looked after Cyrille while Hansel made his way through university. She was the daughter they never had. Hansel devoted more of his spare time to Amelia's upkeep than caring for Cyrille.— The years go on. Hansel moves overseas, bringing Amelia along with him and Cyrille. He carves a niche for himself as an esteemed professor of biology, but it's taxing to "parent" both Cyrille and Amelia. Whenever he gives himself to one, the other gets into trouble.— Amelia cultivates a circle of acquaintances with similar deviations from typical humanity. One day, she brings home a badly injured werewolf, and insists that Hansel help. He's in over his head and hardly understands how such a creature could possibly exist, but does his best, based on a lifetime of experience operating on Amelia.— The procedure is a success. Amelia begins to bring more clients Hansel's way, shattering his world every time. It doesn't take long for him to develop a reputation as the doctor to see when a conventional hospital is not a possibility.— Though Hansel had originally wanted to recreate his grandfather's discovery, his focus shifts to investigating what alternate forms of life exist just out of sight. If vampires are real, is St. Nicholas? He keeps a copious library of notes, either unable or unwilling to keep it all in his mind like Johannes.—He returns to school to become a licensed veterinarian solely for the purpose of providing better aid to his patients. Being able to acquire animal-grade pharmaceuticals makes a huge difference.— Presently, Hansel splits himself between university lectures, the mobile clinic he runs out of his home, and doing his best to be there for Cyrille—though by this point, he wonders if the rift between him and his daughter is irreparable.

To any supernatural citizens in the area, Dr. Hugo is the greatest gift to come to their community. To himself, he's simply Hansel, son of florists, and guardian to two rowdy young women. His life hasn't turned out exactly as planned, but it's more incredible than he could have ever imagined.

TAG PAST. BEFORE THE MOVE. UP TO AGE 32.Hansel knows his family is unconventional from an outsider's perspective, but to him, it's perfectly normal. It's all he's ever known. Amelia is his savior and the love of his life, allowing him to focus and prioritize and not become distracted by certain thoughts that sometimes enter his head. Well-liked by his local community, Hansel is seen as a hardworking, studious young man who also happens to be coordinated enough for most sports. On top of that, he's even handsome. It's a holy trifecta that wins him a degree of popularity and attention he thinks he could do without.

Una never had the chance to know her mother, however, as Adelaide died in childbirth. Rather than leave her ashore to be raised by the closest trustworthy person Barnaby could find, Una was raised on her father’s ship by him and his crew.With little in the way of female influence, she gained the mannerisms of the older men around her and would have been quite the tomboy if society didn’t require her to be an upstanding young lady. Instead of finding a compromise between the two sides, when in the company of those outside her crew, Una tended to overcompensate and play up the image of a posh, if coquettish, ingenue. Despite this, she lived a relatively uneventful life as a merchant mariner, constantly at sea while shipping items from point A to point B.Not long into her twentieth year, a terrible storm rocked their ship, the Amaranthe. There may have been a sea monster involved as well—she can’t clearly remember the details. Regardless, she and a few other men were thrown overboard by the boat’s precarious motions. Those fortunate to stay out of the water believed their shipmates to have drowned. As far as she’s aware, she fell through a hole in the fabric of time-space and traveled nearly 300 years into the future.

Now, years after the terrible occurrence, Naux has carved a modest life for herself. With a steady income and good friends, she’s adapting quickly to the modern world, though much of it still remains a mystery to her. After hearing rumors and stories regarding the other fallen shipmates, she made it her goal to find them and remake her makeshift family—and possibly send all of them back home to the past.Until then, she does business as “U. V. G. Naux,” managing a bookstore called Myths & More. Although the literature is the main attraction, the “more” refers to a variety of other services on the sly, including artifact extraction, courier services, occasional dominatrixing, and tea. Whatever is on this “secret menu” is constantly changing according to whims and availability. To the average person who doesn’t bother to inquire, Myths & More is just another independent bookstore.When she isn’t running the shop with travel buddy and close associate Henry Hollick, she can be found tending to her children (Nutmeg, Oregano, and Lavender), or writing her next book. She and Henry are born rovers; they travel as much circumstances allow, while still maintaining some semblance of a steady lifestyle. When business takes Naux away for an extended period, he watches over the children and minds the shop. She doesn’t know where she’s headed or what the world has in store for her, but if there’s one thing she does know, it’s how to survive.

All they earn is an enormous amount of confusion.Naux is different from these cases in that she has retained the ability to travel through time and space, particularly by jumping: whenever she is in midair, she loses her grip on the fabric of the universe itself and is able to easily slip from this plane. Because she still hasn’t mastered her powers, the length of her leap is directly proportional to the amount of time traveled—a tiny hop could be a few seconds, while falling from the top of a building might be several decades. In this way, she is able to achieve a crude form of teleportation by transporting herself (and anyone she’s holding) milliseconds into the past or future.

After learning of Mr. Hollick’s affection for the game Dungeons & Dragons, Miss Naux decided to dedicate an evening each week to hosting a campaign in the shop. The crowd turnout, however, has not been as successful as expected. In response to the town’s outrage over Eddie Munson and his Hellfire “cult,” they have quietly ceased advertising their connection to the game. However, if anyone were to express interest, Naux has little issue inviting them to the shop’s backroom. She’s always fancied herself something of a revolutionary, and if rebellion means defending and fostering creative freedom, then she’ll gladly start a revolution.

Among other nations on the planet Morinaje, Kanwafan was known as small, yet bellicose, with a reputation of charismatic conquerors as leaders.— Even if Elipo Piran did not take the throne, he was still expected to become a respected military officer, and was raised accordingly with the finest education money could buy, both academic and martial.— He found himself drawn most to scientific subjects, not least due to the influence of Ilja paz Hawakthi, his closest friend since childhood.— Generations before either were born, a plague decimated a significant portion of the Kanwafani population. By the time a treatment was discovered, the sickness had done its damage, but any new outbreaks were quickly quelled with the new elixir.— Years after, a more insidious and deadly illness was born. Some believed that those who caught the original malady gave birth to diseased children, while others stated it was due to a quirk of the cure for that same affliction. The infection manifested only in the youngest generation, with symptoms often first detectable at the onset of adolescence. It was not contagious, but there was no remedy. Ilja's future fate was to be full body calcification—a gradual petrification resulting in her death.— Elipo Piran resolved to find a cure, but knew time was not on his side. He begged his parents to assist Ilja medically in the meantime. Her parents were longstanding employees of the royal family, surely deserving the act of goodwill. The king and queen declined. The paz Hawakthi household was just one of many afflicted. They would not play favorites, and already allocated ample funds to the search for a remedy, or at least something that would halt the calcification if total reversal was not possible.— His parents arranged a marriage between him and the princess of the kingdom of Raigoma as the physical representation of the strength of Raigoman-Kanwafani relations, in the hope that the new role and relationship might give his life better direction and focus.— Elipo Piran refused the betrothal outright, offending every party involved except the princess herself. Stressed and confused and scared for his own future, he took one of his father's private ships and sailed away into the sky. If asked later, he would say that it was only a joyride, and that he always intended to come back home and accept his fate.— The ship cashed on Earth and, after a period of radio silence (owing to a broken communications system), Elipo Piran was dubbed a fugitive wanted for high treason. Of this, he is unaware.— For now, Elipo Piran is living as "Ciel," ward of Kamau Lavoie, a science fiction author who found him in the wreckage. Kamau pokes his mind as part of research for his stories, and Ciel helps with the cooking and cleaning.

Every now and then, explorers and researchers leave his planet to investigate others, and he thinks he would like to experience that as well. For all he knows, the cure to Ilja's disease won't be found on his home planet.So far, none of these expeditions have entailed bringing back humans from Earth, but Elipo Piran enjoys the idea of speaking with one. From time to time, he raids the research libraries for entertainment from Earth to share with Ilja, and the both of them find it highly fascinating. Ilja enjoys animations from an island nation even tinier than Kanwafan, while Elipo Piran is partial to black and white movies involving silly or unlikely accidents.

— The Engelbrecht extended family is among the most prominent "up and coming" clans in South Africa. Their position is further bolstered by the marriage of Betje Engelbrecht to Edmund Fitzgerald. Given Edmund's status as a capable mage from the well-established Burton-Fitzgerald clan of England, their union serves as his clan's formal recognition of her own.— Basil is the first child born from the alliance. The local circle is buzzing with excitement, awaiting the first sign of his blossoming magical capabilities.— They don't have to wait long. Some forms of magic are accessible to anyone though study, but for others, the power is inborn. By a quirk of distant fae ancestry on his father's side, Basil's hair is pure white. By month six, his baby babbling and cooing is enough to create small explosions and draw light objects toward him.— Basil is raised with the best tutors a scholar could ask for, educating him in multiple schools of magic. After a point, most of his free time is spent in isolation in pursuit of other talents, such as music and literature. It would be a waste of intellect and talent to let him play rugby with the local children. He doesn't exactly miss being around them, because he never knew any better in the first place.— To the despair of his father, he gravitates most naturally to potions. It's a "common" class of magic, one that any person could cultivate an affinity for with enough study. In his eyes, it doesn't put his bloodline to its best use. Basil's mother, however, is delighted. Her heritage is known for their long-lasting charms and hexes. She sees her son's ability as an extension of that.— As they grow older, he becomes exceptionally close with his younger siblings. They're two of the only friends he has.— Edmund and Betje put pressure on Nicola and Pieter, though not to nearly the same degree as they'd done with Basil. Nicola, for her part, takes after her father as a skilled illusionist and clairvoyant. Pieter has a tendency to fly under the radar, unnoticed. Some say he can disappear at will, but it has yet to be proven.— It would be easy for Basil to obtain a respectable job in the magical community on the name of his mother or father alone. For the sake of formalities, he obtains a degree in folklore & mythology from a university of great renown.— Rather than coming back home to enrich his local circle, Basil moves to London and opens a shop. For the first time in his life, he is truly alone, separated not only from his siblings, but from the pressure of a thousand eyes watching his every move since birth.— The move and business plan are supported by his parents, who see it as little more than a passing fancy before he settles down. They treat it as an extension of his studies, an opportunity for real-world experience.

To the uninitiated, he would seem to be a young upstart selling all kinds of trinkets and crystals and herbal remedies of questionable assistance. Those in the know can easily identify his Engelbrecht roots, and use his family name as though it were the name of a trusted brand.Now and then he calls himself "Baz" and takes on a persona he perceives as more common in class. During these times, he gathers his wares and hawks them on the street in a far shadier manner. It's the closest he can get to true independence.

TAG PAST. CHILDHOOD. UP TO AGE 20.Beyond his family's esteem in the magical community, the ease with which Basil took to potions made him something of a celebrity from youth. Hailed as a prodigy set to become the greatest mage of the century, he's grown up spoiled, proud, and next-to-friendless. He has a sister, a brother, and a shape-shifting demonic familiar, and that's enough for him.

Magic is his entire life, what he was bred for, and all he knows. He's devoted his existence to the study of the mystic arts and is well-versed in multiple forms of sorcery, as well as "lesser" magics, like potion-making.Although on the daily Basil prefers to run his shop for herbal remedies and all-natural magical paraphernalia, he can't resist the opportunity to show off when The Leftovers come calling. He can't live up to the title "greatest mage of the modern age" without legendary exploits for people to whisper about.
